Each semester, professors associated with the Center for the Study of C.S. Lewis and Friends offer classes, which students will find listed under "Inter-Area Studies."

Fall 2012:

IAS 370 C. S. Lewis/Wendell Berry Seminar – Fall Semester 2012 -9:30 to 11:15am on Thursdays

 Wendell Berry is a contemporary novelist, essayist, and poet whose views on many issues are similar to Lewis’s and on some are quite different. These similarities and differences stimulate thought on such subjects as nature, ecology, science, technology, individualism, community, church, imagination, love, and war.  The seminar may be taken for honors credit and for one or two credit hours.  Discussions will be based on the following books.

Lewis:    That Hideous Strength, The Abolition of Man, Till We have Faces, and

                Selections from The Weight of Glory and other addresses

Berry:   Jaber Crow, Fidelity, Remembering, Selections from Citizenship Papers
