Taylor University's University Advancement and Zondervan Library desire to equip our community with the resources and tools necessary to conduct research on grants and other funding sources.
This guide offers a range of opportunities for discovering funding for your project.
The Foundation Center's Funding Information Network, co-sponsored by TU's University Advancement and the Zondervan Library, provides both online and print resources for finding funders, grants, and even writing the grant proposal.
These resources are open to the public!
Although the Professional version of the Foundation Directory Online is only accessible from specific machines in the Library, the Foundation Center provides very limited search capabilities for free to anyone who wishes to get started.
With FDO Free (see link below), you can search the Funding Information Network's Grantmakers database for:
The benefit of FDO Free is that you can get the hang of how searching works in the database before coming to the Library to utilize the more robust and all-inclusive FDO Professional version.
FDO Free also allows you to search 990s, which are the tax forms filed annually by tax-exempt organizations that allow for the IRS to obtain an overview of the organization's activities, governance, and detailed financial information.
Click on "Search 990s" to enter that database on the FDO Free web site. It is searchable by keyword, among other fields.
Anyone.
The Funding Information Network's online databases and print materials in the Zondervan Library are open for public use.
