Creative Commons offers 6 licenses.  Elements can be combined to create the degree of openness which the creator desires.

BY = Attribution

SA = Share Alike

ND = No Derivatives

NC = Non Commercial

Choosing and Applying a License

  1. Before selecting a CC license, you must be sure that you own the copyright to the material you are licensing.
  2. You should also be aware that CC licenses cannot be revoked.
  3. To CC-license your work, simply select the CC license that best suits your needs and communicate that choice in a way that is clear. You should include a link to the license you chose. For example, © 2019. This work is openly licensed via CC BY 4.0.
